Dr. D.Dutta Roy
Dr. Debdulal Dutta Roy is the Associate Professor of the Psychology Research Unit of the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata. He received Ph.D. degree in Organizational Psychology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur in 1990.
He is the regional secretary of the Indian Academy of Health Psychology and Regional Secretary of the Indian School Psychology Association. Besides he is the Division convener of psychological assessment, National Academy of Psychology (NAOP). He was the EX- Executive council member of the Indian Academy of Applied Psychology (IAAP) and Division convener of Psychological assessment of National Academy of Psychology (NAOP ).He is the Member of the Editorial Board of the 'Journal of Management Research in Emerging Economies'of Dr. B.C.Roy Engineering College.,Durgapore. He is also member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of the Indian Academy of Applied Psychology, Journal of Organization and Human Behaviour.
His research interest is in measurement of psychological phenomena, Psychoinformatics, Rabindrik approach in psychological counseling and Agro-psychological counseling.He wrote 87 research papers published in Indian and foreign journals including US and Pakistan. He wrote 18 book chapters on various issues. Dr. Dutta Roy is the Ex-chief editor of Psybernews, International journal. He authored one book titled Principles of Questionnaire Development. He delivered more than 116 invited lectures in India and abroad (China, Bangkok, Pakistan, Nepal, Dubai, Malaysia, Japan).
He conducted several workshops, seminars and conferences under his leadership in collaboration with different academic bodies like Indian Academy of Health Psychology, Indian School Psychology Association and Indian Institute of Public Health.
Dr. Dutta Roy is the recipient of few awards for his researches – a) Young Scientist Award in 1988 by the Indian Science Congress Association; b) Best Poster Award in 2003 and 2004 by the Indian Science Congress Association; c) ICQESMS 2005 Excellence award by the Indian Congress on Quality, Environment, Energy and Safety Management Systems (ICQESMS) and Central Board for Workers Education (CBWE) in 2005; d) Professor T.E. Shanmugam Award for excellence in research for 1999 and 2000 by the Madras Psychology Society in 2003; e) Best Paper Award by the Pondicherry Psychology Association in 2003; f) Psychometric Educational Services Award, 2004 by the GCC School of Creative intelligence and Research foundation trust, Vepur-Arcot, in 5th January, 2008. g) Best Paper Award from the International conference on recent advances in cognition health, Department of Psychology, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi in 7th February, 2016. He is attached to the different selection committees of the Government of India.
